The prospects of launching a new international airline were reviewed in the Fergana region.
The Hokim of the region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held a meeting with a delegation led by the head of the Afghan company Kam Air, Omar Mohammad Sulaiman.
Timur Khalilov, Head of the Commercial Department of JSC Uzbekistan Airports, also participated in the event.
This meeting was a continuation of the agreements reached during the visit of the Fergana region delegation to Afghanistan on July 26–27 of this year.
During that trip, several meetings were held dedicated to the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as the expansion of mutually beneficial ties between the parties.
At the current negotiations, the participants discussed the implementation of the reached agreements and the further expansion of cooperation in the aviation sector.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the initiative to create a new international airline in Fergana.
The parties exchanged views on the possibilities of implementing the project, the necessary infrastructure, and the organization of appropriate services. Special attention was paid to the issues that need to be resolved to transition from discussing the initiative to its practical implementation.
The meeting participants emphasized the need to involve specialized organizations and experts in the project.
The importance of organizing the relevant work in accordance with international standards was also noted.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed on further steps and identified promising areas of cooperation in the aviation sector.
