Uzbekistan Airports and Loong Air discuss launching flights on the Xi'an - Fergana route
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A working meeting was held at Uzbekistan Airports JSC with a delegation led by Xiao Wei, General Manager of the Marketing Department of the Chinese airline Loong Air.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further development of cooperation. In particular, issues of increasing the number of flights on existing routes, expanding the range of services for passengers, in particular, the Fast Track and high-level lounge services, as well as implementing joint marketing projects with duty-free shop operators at Uzbek airports were considered.
The main topic of the negotiations was the opening of a new international route Xi'an - Fergana. The participants of the meeting, having considered the commercial potential of this route, noted that the Fergana Valley is the most densely populated region of Uzbekistan, with high business activity and tourist potential.
“In recent years, the number of enterprises with Chinese investment in the Fergana Valley has been increasing, as well as the number of Chinese citizens visiting the region for business purposes and working in ongoing investment projects. These factors create the basis for the formation of a stable passenger flow on the new route,” noted the officials of the commercial department of Uzbekistan Airports JSC.
Following the meeting, it was agreed to continue joint work on the project to open flights on the Xi'an-Fergana route, as well as to cooperate on increasing the number of flights on existing routes to Tashkent and Samarkand.
Loong Air is a domestic and international airline based in Hangzhou, China. It currently operates nine regular flights per week to Uzbekistan on three routes: Xi'an-Tashkent, Chengdu-Tashkent, and Xi'an-Samarkand.
