Uzbekistan Airports and Loong Air Discuss Launching Flights to Fergana

Representatives of Uzbekistan Airports and the Chinese airline Loong Air held a working meeting to discuss the prospects of launching new international flights between Xi'an and Fergana, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation on existing routes, according to Uzbekistan Airports. The Loong Air delegation was led by Xiao Wei, General Manager of the Marketing Department.

During the talks, the parties discussed the potential increase in flight frequency on existing routes, expanding the range of services for passengers, including Fast Track services and access to luxury lounges. Joint marketing initiatives with duty-free shop operators at Uzbekistan airports were also discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the project to launch flights between Xi'an and Fergana. The meeting participants analyzed the commercial potential of the new route, emphasizing that the Fergana Valley is the most densely populated region of Uzbekistan, characterized by high business activity and significant tourism potential.

According to the commercial department of Uzbekistan Airports, in recent years the Fergana Valley has seen an increase in the number of enterprises with Chinese capital, as well as an increase in the number of Chinese citizens arriving in the region for work and investment projects. The company estimates that these factors create favorable conditions for the development of stable passenger traffic on the new route.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working together on the project to launch flights between Xi'an and Fergana, as well as to collaborate on increasing the frequency of flights on existing routes to Tashkent and Samarkand.

Loong Air, based in Hangzhou, China, operates domestic and international passenger services. The airline currently operates nine scheduled flights per week to Uzbekistan on the routes Xi'an - Tashkent, Chengdu - Tashkent, and Xi'an - Samarkand.
