EPL. "Arsenal" defeated "Chelsea" in the London derby

The central match of the 3rd round of the English Premier League's 2026/2027 season has concluded. In the clash that took place at the "Emirates" stadium in London, "Arsenal" defeated "Chelsea" with a score of 2:1.

The visitors started the match actively — in the very 2nd minute of the game, Morgan Rogers found the opponent's net, putting "Chelsea" ahead. In the 12th minute, Riccardo Calafiori seemed to restore parity, but after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed. Nevertheless, in the 25th minute, Kai Havertz equalized the score.

At the beginning of the second half, the initiative shifted to "Arsenal". In the 50th minute, Martin Ødegaard scored, becoming the author of the goal that brought victory to his team. A fierce struggle continued in the remaining minutes, but the score did not change. After this victory, "Arsenal" increased its points to 9. "Chelsea" has 6 points.

In the next round of the championship, the "Gunners" will play against "Sunderland" on September 12. On the exact same day, "Chelsea" will host "Hull City" at home.
