Arsenal beat Manchester City by a huge margin to win the FA Super Cup
The 2026 FA Super Cup was held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The London club Arsenal took on Manchester City and celebrated a convincing 3-0 victory.
The match was completely dominated by the Gunners. Riccardo Calafiori opened the scoring in the first minute of the match, putting the Londoners ahead, while Kai Havertz doubled his team's lead in the 28th minute. At the beginning of the second half, or rather in the 48th minute, Martin Odegaard scored the third goal, putting the final point in the match. The score remained unchanged in the remaining minutes, and Mikel Arteta's team won their first trophy of the new season.
Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov started the match in the main squad and played the full 90 minutes on the field.
For information, the FA Super Cup is traditionally a match between the previous season's Premier League champion and the FA Cup winner.
Arsenal won the EPL title in the 2025/2026 season, accumulating 85 points in 38 matches. The team also reached the Champions League final last season, losing to PSG on penalties in the decisive match (1:1, 3:4 on penalties).
Manchester City finished second in the EPL last season with 78 points, but won the right to compete for the Super Cup thanks to their victory in the FA Cup.
