E-Permit system introduced for cargo transportation between Uzbekistan and Georgia

**Uzbekistan and Georgia launch E-Permit system for international road freight transportation**

The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan has successfully implemented the E-Permit system, an electronic permit for international road freight transportation with Georgia.

According to this innovation, permits of the "bilateral", "transit" and "to/from a third country" categories to national carriers will now be issued only in electronic form, based on their applications. This means abandoning the previously distributed paper forms.

The new system is aimed at speeding up the process of obtaining permits, reducing the use of paper forms and minimizing the human factor. It also creates a more convenient and transparent mechanism for national carriers in international freight transportation.

An E-Permit is an electronic permit issued for international road freight transportation, which allows the carrier to enter the territory of another state, transit through it or transport goods to/from a third country.

It should be recalled that at the end of the negotiations held on July 3, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze signed a Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership Relations. At that meeting, a number of bilateral documents were exchanged in the presence of the heads of delegations, including a memorandum of cooperation on the implementation of the E-Permit information system for the exchange of permits.
