Direct flights may be launched between Uzbekistan and the Philippines

The possibility of establishing direct air flights between Uzbekistan and the Philippines was discussed. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.
Deputy Foreign Minister Mirvohid Azimov held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Philippines Roberto Manalo. The meeting considered the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the two countries, strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
The parties noted the great potential for trade, economic and investment cooperation in the fields of agriculture, chemical and food industries, as well as tourism. The issue of establishing direct contacts between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries was also discussed.
In order to develop tourist exchanges and strengthen transport ties, the prospects for establishing direct flights between Uzbekistan and the Philippines, as well as organizing mutual familiarization trips for representatives of the tourism sector, were considered.
At the end of the meeting, the readiness of the two countries to continue cooperation in developing relations and implementing specific projects was expressed.
We would like to remind you that on August 13, representatives of the transport and logistics sector of Uzbekistan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Shadurdi Meredov. At that meeting, the issue of resuming direct flights between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was discussed.
