Uzbekistan and the Philippines Consider Launching Direct Air Service

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – On August 14, Deputy Foreign Minister Mirvohid Azimov met with Roberto Manalo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Uzbekistan, whose residence is in Tehran.

According to the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, including strengthening political dialogue and expanding trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties.

The Philippines confirmed its interest in consistently developing mutually beneficial relations with Uzbekistan.

Meeting participants noted the significant potential for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Agriculture, the chemical and food industries, and tourism were named among the priority areas.

Special attention was paid to establishing direct contacts between the chambers of commerce and industry of both countries.

Prospects for increasing tourism exchanges and developing transport connectivity were also discussed. Specifically, the parties discussed the possibility of launching direct flights between Uzbekistan and the Philippines, as well as organizing mutual study tours for tourism industry representatives.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to continue working together to further develop Uzbek-Philippine relations and implement specific mutually beneficial projects.
