Developers in Uzbekistan will be required to service elevators for one year after handing over buildings

Construction companies in Uzbekistan will be required to service elevators in new apartment buildings for one year after they are commissioned. In addition, the purchase and sale of elevators and spare parts for them will be transferred to an electronic platform, and a schedule of mandatory technical maintenance will be introduced for service organizations.

Such norms are enshrined in a Cabinet of Ministers resolution dated October 22. This document regulates the state registration of elevators, their operation, and technical maintenance.

According to the resolution, construction organizations are obligated to provide service for elevators in new apartment buildings within one year after the buildings are commissioned.

The purchase and sale of elevators and spare parts for them will be carried out through the "Safe Elevator" electronic platform, developed by the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

The document also outlines the obligations of companies servicing elevators. Technical maintenance must be carried out monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually.

In addition, rules for the use of elevators by residents have been established. They are prohibited from transporting construction materials and debris, chemical substances with a sharp odor, as well as items that do not correspond to the dimensions of the cabin.

The resolution is designed to increase elevator safety and clearly delineate the responsibilities of all participants in the process — from the installation of equipment to its maintenance and operation.
