TSODD for the first time released daily traffic statistics

The Tashkent Traffic Management Center (TSODD) has for the first time published data on the daily traffic flow in the capital. According to the center, on September 4, 1,502,057 vehicles traveled along the streets and roads of the city. This was reported by the Tashkent TSODD.

Compared to September 3, the number of vehicles increased by 14,807, or approximately 1%. The day before, 1,487,250 vehicles traveled on the capital's roads.

During the day, public transport carried more than 2 million passengers. On 170 bus routes, 1,670 buses were in operation, used by 1,228,158 passengers. The Tashkent Metro carried 862,053 passengers on the same day.

The TSODD Situation Center also monitored the congestion levels at city intersections. During peak hours, congestion reached seven points at six intersections, and exceeded seven points at another intersection.

To reduce the load on the most congested sections, specialists adjusted the operating modes of traffic lights.

In certain directions, the duration of the green signal was increased. In addition, road patrol service officers were dispatched to problematic intersections to regulate traffic.

During the day, 4,751 traffic violations were recorded in Tashkent. Over the same period, 22 road accidents occurred, in which four people sustained severe bodily injuries.

The TSODD emphasized that such daily statistics on traffic in Tashkent and Uzbekistan had never been published before.

The center reported that the publication of such data will become a regular practice.
