Chinese seeds to be tested in Jizzakh pastures

Chinese technology and seeds are planned to be used for the development of low-yield land in the Jizzakh region.

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan discussed joint agricultural projects with China's Qinghai Tianyuan. One of them is an experimental planting on the region's pastures.

They intend to test soybean, corn, wheat, and other crop seeds on these lands. Specialists will have to identify varieties capable of adapting to local soils and providing high yields.

If the trials are successful, the crops will begin to be multiplied and grown over large areas.

In addition, the parties agreed to study Jizzakh's saline lands and the possibilities of their agricultural development using Chinese experience, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
