Children of Uzbek citizens convicted in Russia returned to their homeland
Three children of Uzbek women convicted in Russia have been returned to their homeland through the efforts of diplomats from the Consulate General in Kazan. The children, aged between one and four years, were being held in a children's home at a correctional facility in Mordovia.

Minor children of female citizens of Uzbekistan who are serving sentences in correctional institutions of the Republic of Mordovia and the Samara Oblast have been returned from Russia to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The children were staying in a children's home at one of the correctional institutions in Mordovia.
As the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Omonulla Fayziev, told Gazeta, a total of three children were returned: two girls — one aged 4, the other 2.5 — and a one-year-old boy.
The relevant materials were handed over to the authorized bodies of Russia.
The return of the children was organized by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan.
During the journey, they were accompanied by diplomats and officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs dispatched from Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the Consulate General systematically works on returning the children of Uzbek citizens who are in children's homes at Russian correctional institutions.
