Chess Olympiad champions to receive housing, cars, and $200 thousand
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has announced measures to reward the winners and medalists of the Chess and Para-Chess Olympiads, as well as their coaches.

According to the decision made, Olympiad champions Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javokhir Sindarov, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Mukhiddin Madaminov, and Shamsiddin Vokhidov will be awarded housing and cars.
Housing and cars will also be received by para-chess players Akhadkhon Kimsanboev, Marsel Shoyusupov, Sardorbek Mamaradjabov, Selbi Kakishova, and Sirojiddin Zayniddinov.
The head coaches of the national teams, Rustam Kasimdzhanov and Samandar Shermukhammadov, will be awarded cars.
Each chess player who became an Olympic champion will receive a cash prize of $200 thousand, and their coaches will receive $50 thousand each.
Para-chess players who won bronze medals will receive $50 thousand each, and their coaches will receive $12.5 thousand each.
"Our chess players and para-chess players will get behind the wheel of new cars and enter their new homes today," Mirziyoyev said.
The head of state noted that in this way, the state seeks to worthily appreciate the work of the athletes and their coaches.
The president also outlined the next strategic goal — to turn Uzbekistan not only into a country of Olympic champions but also into a global center of chess.
"We will turn New Uzbekistan not only into a country of Olympic champions but also into a global center of chess," Mirziyoyev said.
According to the president, the country has the necessary conditions for this — high results of athletes, experience, and champions who can serve as an example for the younger generation.
Mirziyoyev noted that millions of children followed every victory and game of the Uzbek chess players at the Olympiad. According to him, many of them, inspired by the success of the athletes, have already started playing chess.
"Now you are not just athletes. You are symbols of intelligence, knowledge, patience, discipline, and faith in victory for the youth of New Uzbekistan," the president addressed the champions.
In this regard, the head of state ordered to create conditions for the early identification of talented children in every region, district, and mahalla, their training by strong mentors, and regular participation in international tournaments.
