Champions of the World Chess Olympiad will be given 200 thousand dollars each

According to the President's decision, gold medal winners in the World Chess Olympiad and Paralympics among adults will receive 200 thousand dollars, silver medalists will receive 100 thousand dollars, and bronze medalists will receive 50 thousand dollars in prize money. Their coaches will be awarded 50, 25, and 12.5 thousand dollars, respectively.

World Chess Olympiad champions to receive $200,000 each

Presidential Decree No. PQ-346 "On measures to worthily encourage the winners and prize-winners of prestigious international chess competitions and their coaches" was adopted.

According to the decree, the amount of one-time cash prizes awarded to Uzbek chess players who win or take prize-winning places in prestigious international chess competitions will be increased.

The incentive measures will cover coaches along with the athletes. That is, one-time rewards paid to the coaches of chess players who achieve results in international competitions will also be increased.

According to the document, the cash prizes awarded to the winners of prestigious international competitions have been set as follows:

World Chess Olympiad and Paralympiad (adults): gold – 200 thousand US dollars (previously 2,000 times the BHM – 880 million soums); silver – 100 thousand dollars (previously 1,000 times the BHM – 440 million soums); bronze – 50 thousand dollars (previously 500 times the BHM – 220 million soums).

World Chess Olympiad and Paralympiad (youth): gold – 20 thousand dollars; silver – 10 thousand dollars; bronze – 5 thousand dollars.

World-level competitions according to FIDE classification: gold – 15 thousand dollars (previously 300 times the BHM – 132 million soums); silver – 7.5 thousand dollars (previously 150 times the BHM – 66 million soums); bronze – 3 thousand 750 dollars (previously 75 times the BHM – 33 million soums).

Asian-level competitions according to FIDE classification: gold – 10 thousand dollars (previously 70 times the BHM – 30 million 800 thousand soums);
