Can an employee in labor-surplus Uzbekistan "step on the employer's throat"?
In Uzbekistan, an employee has the right to seek changes to working conditions if such a right is established by labor legislation, other legal acts, or an employment contract. This was reported by the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction.
The employer is obliged to consider an employee's written request within three working days from the moment of its submission.
If the request is denied, the decision must be justified in writing. However, the absence of a written explanation does not deprive the employee of the opportunity to appeal the refusal.
What issues can an employee raise?
In particular, this may concern changing the working hours schedule, transferring to another workplace, or revising the terms of remuneration.
However, the right to demand such changes does not arise automatically, but only in cases provided for by legislation or an employment contract.
