Barcelona are preparing to sign a defender from the Bundesliga — Sport.es

Barcelona are considering RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Luceba as a potential replacement for winger Alex Balde in the summer transfer window. The 23-year-old has a release clause of €80m, but the Reds are reportedly open to offers of €45m-€50m.

Luceba made 29 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. The player's current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2029.

According to Transfermarkt, Luceba has a market value of €50m.

It was previously reported that Frenkie de Jong, Marc Casado, Hector Fort, Alejandro Balde and Jules Cunde were among the candidates expected to leave the team.

It is reported that Manchester United are interested in signing Alejandro Balde and the Mancunians have held initial talks with the player's representatives.
