Barcelona rejects €80m transfer bid

Barcelona are not willing to pay the €80m release clause in Sporting's Luis Suarez contract. The Catalans believe the fee is too high. This was reported by the famous insider Fabrizio Romano on his social media page.

According to the source, the Portuguese club is also unwilling to compromise on the price and hopes to keep the Colombian striker in the team.

Earlier, Romano reported that the Blues were considering Suarez as an alternative option if the transfer of Atletico striker Julian Alvarez did not take place. However, the Catalans decided to reject this transfer as well.

For information, Suarez played a total of 53 games in all competitions last season, scoring 38 goals and providing 9 assists. The striker's current contract with the Lisbon club runs until the summer of 2030. According to the Transfermarkt portal, his current market value is 30 million euros.
