Opening ceremony of the "IMKON" center held in Samarkand within the framework of the summit
Within the framework of the international summit "Investments in Child Wellbeing: Towards Sustainable and Equitable Progress for Future Generations," the opening ceremony of the "IMKON" center took place in Samarkand. The event was attended by the First Lady of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, as well as first ladies and high-ranking guests participating in the summit.
This center, which is part of the system of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, combines preschool education, correctional-pedagogical assistance, and comprehensive rehabilitation. The program for each child is developed taking into account their individual needs. Parents can receive recommendations from specialists to reinforce the skills acquired by their child at home.
The preschool education department is designed for 150 places and includes 10 specialized groups for children aged 2 to 7 years. In the outpatient department, nearly 100 children per month aged 2 to 18 years can undergo rehabilitation courses.
Therapeutic physical culture, speech and fine motor skills development, sensory integration classes, physiotherapy, and other treatments are carried out at the center. Doctors in seven specialties, defectologists, speech therapists, psychologists, rehabilitation specialists, and other staff members work here.
The center in Samarkand has become a new link in the "IMKON" network, which also includes institutions in Nukus, Qibray, Qarshi, and Zarafshan. In 2025, over 546 thousand procedures and classes were conducted in the network's institutions, and 3,777 children underwent outpatient rehabilitation.
Work to expand the network continues: construction of a center has begun in Fergana, and plans are in place to build similar institutions in Namangan and the city of Nurafshon in the Tashkent region.
