An attempt was made to smuggle a shipment of spare parts worth 1.1 billion soums into Uzbekistan

At the "Dustlik" post in the Andijan region, customs officers detected over two dozen types of components for bicycles and electric scooters that were not declared. The preliminary value of the cargo exceeded one billion soums.

Customs officers noticed the discrepancies while checking the documents of vehicles entering Uzbekistan. Specialists cross-referenced the shipping documents with the electronic declarations and decided to conduct an additional inspection.

The vehicles were directed to the "red" corridor. During the inspection, it was revealed that part of the cargo was missing from the submitted documents.

In particular, customs officers discovered 23,000 bicycle tires and 2.2 thousand lead-acid batteries for electric scooters. Their total preliminary value is 1.135 billion soums.

All products have been seized and placed in temporary storage. A decision will be made upon completion of the investigation.
