An attempt to smuggle over 52 kilograms of narcotics was detected in Surxondaryo
According to information provided by the Customs Committee to Kun.uz, on October 1 at 22:30, during a customs inspection of an empty cargo vehicle entering from Afghanistan at the "Ayritom" border customs post of the Surxondaryo Regional Customs Department, a signal given by a service dog caught the attention of customs officers.
Following this, the cargo vehicle, driven by a resident of the Termiz district, was subjected to an advanced customs inspection.
During the inspection, 98 packages were found hidden under the floor of the vehicle's trailer.
In order to deceive the inspection X-ray equipment at the customs post, these packages were wrapped in four layers of polyethylene, foil, and adhesive tape.
When the packages were opened, it was revealed that 79 of them contained "hashish" and 19 contained "opium" narcotics.
When weighed together with their packaging, the hashish amounted to 42 kg 335 grams, the opium to 10 kg 260 grams, making a total of 52 kg 595 grams.
Regarding this situation, pre-investigation checks are being conducted by the customs authorities, with the main focus on identifying the recipients of these narcotics.
