Customs officers in Tashkent have thwarted the illegal import of freon and dietary supplements worth billions of soums.

In Tashkent, customs officers stopped several attempts to illegally import goods through the "Chukursoy" post. In three shipments, they detected more than 7 tons of freon without a special permit, undeclared pumps, and over 35.6 thousand packages of dietary supplements. The total value of the discovered goods exceeded 7.8 billion soums.

The first violation was identified during the inspection of a cargo arriving from China. As specialists found out, more than 2.1 thousand cylinders contained R22 freon with a total weight of over 7 tons. This substance depletes the ozone layer, which is why a special permit is required for its import. The owner of the cargo did not possess such a document.

But the violations in the Chinese shipment did not end there. Customs officers found 150 pumps for refrigeration systems that were missing from the accompanying documents. The value of the undeclared equipment exceeds 787 million soums. The goods have been temporarily placed in storage.

Another episode was recorded during the clearance of a cargo from Malaysia. The documents stated that it contained Ganoderma plant extract. However, the shipment actually contained more than 35.6 thousand packages of finished dietary supplements.

The value of this shipment exceeds 7 billion soums. According to the customs authorities, the inaccurate declaration of the product name could have concealed its actual contents and allowed the evasion of customs duties amounting to approximately 1.7 billion soums.

Thus, based on the results of the inspections, customs officers identified goods with a total value of more than 7.8 billion soums.
