Air quality in Tashkent may deteriorate on the morning of October 30

According to the Ecology Committee, air quality in the city of Tashkent is likely to change on the night of October 29 to October 30.

During the night and morning hours, the air quality may reach the "unhealthy" level, and according to the national air quality index, the "orange" level.

It is reported that a drop in air temperature at night, light wind, and a strong temperature inversion will limit air exchange in the lower layers of the atmosphere.

"Under these conditions, light wind slows down the dispersion of local emissions and those formed in neighboring regions released into the atmosphere, creating conditions for them to remain in the layer close to the earth's surface," the report states.

It is noted that the prolonged retention of air masses around the city could further restrict the dispersion of local pollutants.

During the day, as a result of rising air temperatures and improved vertical air exchange, the inversion is expected to weaken, leading to an improvement in air quality.

Earlier, Uzhydromet warned that atmospheric inversion in the city of Tashkent could continue for another 10 days.
