In Tashkent, an increase in the concentration of polluting particles in the air is expected on the evening of October 14.

Air quality degradation expected in parts of Tashkent in the evening

From 20:00 to 23:00, the Air Quality Index (AQI) may rise to 100–150, which corresponds to the level "unhealthy for sensitive groups," according to a statement from the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.

The highest values are forecasted from 22:00 to 23:00 in the northern and western parts of the capital.

According to the committee, a short-term degradation of air quality was observed in certain hours and in some areas of Tashkent on the night of October 14. Light wind and temperature inversion created conditions for the accumulation of polluting particles in the surface layer of the atmosphere.

At the same time, the average air quality indicators across the city according to the national index remained at the "green" level for PM2.5 and the "yellow" level for PM10.

On October 14, from 10:00 to 17:00, air quality was predominantly forecasted at a "moderate" level — AQI 75–100.

The committee added that ambient air quality is under constant monitoring by the Special Commission.
