Tashkent "Pakhtakor" defender Mukhammadrasul Abdumazhidov will continue his career at French "Brest". The football player will join the club on January 1, as announced by "Pakhtakor" head coach Kamoliddin Tazhiyev.
According to the coach, the contract with the player has already been signed by both parties. At the same time, Abdumazhidov decided to stay with "Pakhtakor" until the end of the current period to help the team.
"Mukhammadrasul himself wanted to stay with the team and help," Tazhiyev said.
Previously, the French club had already shown interest in the 22-year-old "Pakhtakor" defender. At the end of August, it was reported that "Brest" wanted to sign the football player on a one-season loan with a subsequent option to buy, but the Tashkent club did not agree to the transfer.
Tazhiyev also emphasized that an earlier offer could have changed the situation. According to him, if the corresponding letter had arrived earlier, the club might have agreed to let the player go to France.
The "Pakhtakor" head coach cited Mukhammadali Urinboev, who transferred from the Tashkent club to a Belgian team last year, as an example.
