Tashkent's "Pakhtakor" defender Muhammadrasul Abdumajidov will continue his career at the French club "Brest". The player will join the club starting January 1. This was announced by the head coach of "Pakhtakor", Kamoliddin Tojiyev.

According to the coach, the parties have already signed a contract with the player. At the same time, Abdumajidov decided to stay at "Pakhtakor" until the end of the current season in order to help the team.

"Muhammadrasul himself wanted to stay in the team and help," Tojiyev said.

Earlier, the French club had shown interest in the 22-year-old defender of "Pakhtakor". At the end of August, it was reported that "Brest" wanted to loan the player for one season with an option to buy him later. However, the Tashkent club did not agree to the player's transfer.

Tojiyev also noted that the situation could have been different if the offer had come earlier. According to him, if the corresponding letter had arrived earlier, the club might have agreed to let the player go to France.

The head coach of "Pakhtakor" cited Muhammadali Urinboev, who transferred from the Tashkent club to a Belgian team last year, as an example of this.
