A special task force from Uzbekistan arrived in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, on August 11 to provide assistance and organize the return of the bodies of fallen compatriots. The day before, eight Uzbek citizens were killed in a drone attack there.

According to the press service of the head of Tatarstan, the republic is actively assisting the Uzbek side in collecting information about the incident and the victims, as well as in organizing the repatriation of the bodies of the deceased Uzbek citizens.
This process is being coordinated by First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin. Funeral services were held in a mosque in Nizhnekamsk before the repatriation. Cooperation with the Uzbek side is being conducted under the direction of Head of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov.
On August 10, Nizhnekamsk was subjected to a massive attack by Ukrainian drones. The incident left 78 people injured and 13 people, including one child, killed. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under the article on terrorism. A day of mourning has been declared in Tatarstan, and entertainment events have been cancelled or postponed.
Citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are among the victims in Nizhnekamsk. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan initially reported seven dead, but the Uzbek Ministry of Emergency Situations later clarified that the death toll had risen to eight. By order of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a government commission was formed under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov.
