A woman wanted in a human trafficking case has been returned from Turkey to Uzbekistan
A citizen of Uzbekistan, who had been on the international wanted list for several years, was located and detained in Turkey.
She was placed on the international wanted list on charges of crimes under Articles 135 and 223 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan — human trafficking and illegal travel abroad.
According to the investigation, the woman acted in conspiracy with other individuals. They deceptively transported citizens through Kazakhstan to Thailand and Turkey, where they involved them in prostitution.
The location of the wanted woman was established during joint operational activities of the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey. Following her detention, she was extradited to Uzbekistan.
Earlier, two citizens of Uzbekistan who were on the international wanted list were detained in Turkey. One of them had been evading justice for nine years.
