An Uzbek citizen wanted internationally on human trafficking charges has been detained in Turkey

As a result of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey, M.Kh., an Uzbek citizen who had been on the international wanted list for many years, was identified and detained in Turkey, and returned to Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure.

M.Kh. was placed on the international wanted list on charges of committing crimes stipulated by Article 135 (Human Trafficking) and Article 223 (Illegal Exit Abroad) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

According to the investigation materials, the woman is accused of conspiring with other individuals to deceptively transport citizens through Kazakhstan to Thailand and Turkey, where they were forced into prostitution.

The agency emphasized that committing a crime and hiding abroad does not allow one to evade responsibility.

This is provided for in the Cabinet of Ministers' decision of October 6. They can live in specialized institutions for up to six months free of charge, participate in a rehabilitation program, and learn a profession.
