An Uzbek woman, who had been wanted for a long time on charges of human trafficking, was detained in Turkey
A 43-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who was on the international wanted list on charges of human trafficking, has been detained in Istanbul. The woman is suspected of bringing young girls to Turkey with promises of high-paying jobs and exploiting them by confiscating their passports. The accused has been brought back to Uzbekistan.

An Uzbek woman, who had been on the international wanted list for a long time on charges of committing the crime of human trafficking, has been detained in Turkey.
N.Ye., a citizen of Uzbekistan born in 1981, was apprehended during operational-search activities conducted in Istanbul in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
The suspect is accused under Article 135, Part 3 (Human Trafficking) of the Criminal Code. She is suspected of luring young girls to Turkey with promises of high-paying jobs, confiscating their passports, and forcing them into prostitution and exploiting them, the report says.
The detained individual was handed over to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure. Currently, relevant investigative and procedural actions against her are ongoing.
