A senatorial inquiry was sent to the Minister of Health regarding issues related to medical waste

A senatorial inquiry has been sent to the Minister of Health regarding issues related to medical waste.

Studies conducted on-site by senators together with deputies of local Kengashes (councils) showed that certain problems related to medical waste still persist.

In particular, cases of burning medical waste in the open or together with household waste, as well as handing them over to sanitation and cleaning enterprises as household waste, are being observed.

Following this, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agrarian, Water Resources and Ecology, A. Tuychiyev, sent a senatorial inquiry to the Minister of Health.

The inquiry requests information on the work carried out to maintain a unified electronic record of the daily volume of medical waste and to fully direct the waste to processing enterprises in accordance with the established procedure.

Information was also requested on the measures being taken to ensure compliance with the requirements for the collection, transportation, storage, neutralization, disposal, and recycling of medical waste.
