A school in the center of Sumy was hit during classes
On September 29, Russian troops struck residential areas and a school in the Ukrainian city of Sumy with guided aerial bombs. According to Ukrainian officials, two people were killed and children were injured as a result of the attack on private homes. The city's central cemetery was also hit.

According to DW, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, stated that four guided aerial bombs were dropped on residential areas and a school in the city. Two people were killed in the private residential sector.
According to the regional police, three children aged 3, 6, and 15 were injured in the private residential area. At least seven homes were damaged.
The strike on the school in the city center occurred during classes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that students and teachers were in the shelter at the time of the attack. In total, nearly 100 people were evacuated to the shelter.
Following the attack on the school, six people, including three children, sought medical assistance.
In addition, Russian forces also struck the central cemetery in Sumy with an aerial bomb. According to the publication "Suspilne Sumy," graves were damaged as a result of the attack.
