At least 12 people injured in night missile attack on Kyiv

Russia attacked Kyiv and Odesa on the night of September 17. According to Ukrainian officials, at least 12 people, including two children aged 10 and 12, were injured in Kyiv. In Odesa, three people were injured, including a four-year-old child. As a result of strikes on Sumy the day before, one person was killed and nine people were injured.

At least 12 people injured in night missile strike on Kyiv

Russian troops launched a large-scale missile attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, on the night of Thursday, September 17.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, at least 12 people were injured as a result of the attack. Among them are two children aged 10 and 12. Nine of the victims have been hospitalized.

Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the injured 10-year-old child is a girl.

Buildings in several districts of the Ukrainian capital were damaged due to the attack. According to the city military administration, warehouses were damaged in the Solomensky and Dnipro districts. A residential building was also damaged in the Dnipro district.

According to Klitschko, the facade and windows of a three-story office building in the same district were damaged. Windows of several residential buildings were shattered. In the Svyatoshinsky district, a non-residential building was damaged.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the facade and windows of a four-story higher education institution building in the Goloseevsky district were also damaged. The name of the university was not disclosed. No deaths or injuries were reported in this incident.

On the night of September 17, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had warned about missiles moving towards Kyiv.

That same night, Russia also attacked Odessa. Sergey Lysak, the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, said that at least three people were injured as a result of the strike.

Among the injured is a four-year-old child. Lysak stated that all of them are receiving the necessary medical assistance.

The head of the military administration reported that a multi-story building was also damaged in Odessa as a result of the attack.

In addition, on the evening of September 16, one person was killed and nine others were injured as a result of Russian airstrikes on the city of Sumy. Two children are among the injured.
