A petrochemical scientific-industrial cluster may be established in Bukhara
During his visit to Bukhara region, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on issues of developing the regional economy and improving the population's standard of living.
The President stressed that by combining the potential of raw materials, energy resources, and entrepreneurs in Bukhara, there is an opportunity to implement $28 billion worth of projects within three years.
$17 billion of this plan falls to the oil-and-gas and chemical industries. The head of state set the task to attract prestigious technological companies to increase the capacity of the Bukhara Oil Refinery and achieve concrete results.
Overall, to deeply process the raw materials generated at the region's enterprises, the necessity of establishing a petrochemical scientific-industrial cluster in the Kogon district was noted.
In the energy sector, power plants with a capacity of nearly 2,000 megawatts were commissioned in a short period. Over the next three years, it is planned to construct another 3,100 megawatts of wind power plants and 1,000 megawatts of energy storage systems.
The increase in electricity generation capacity also requires the development of transmission and distribution networks. To this end, it is planned to build 745 kilometers of power lines in the region over three years.
In light industry, drawing on the experience of cooperation with international brands, the need to promote textile products manufactured in Bukhara more widely in foreign markets was emphasized.
The task was set to implement projects worth at least $1 billion in this direction next year and to double exports.
