A new "smart city" will be built in Khiva
One of Pakistan's largest construction and infrastructure companies, Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd., has begun the process of implementing a new "smart city" investment project in Khiva. A memorandum of understanding on the project has been signed between the company and the Khorezm regional administration.

According to the Dunyo news agency, a delegation of Habib Rafiq Engineering (HRL) with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan paid another visit to Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the company's management visited the Khorezm region and signed a memorandum of understanding with the regional administration on the implementation of a "smart city" investment project in the city of Khiva.
This agreement is considered an important initial step towards the implementation of a project to build a new modern urban area within the framework of the expansion of the ancient city of Khiva.
According to the plan, the new "smart city" is planned to introduce modern engineering and transport infrastructure, utility systems, and sustainable urban development solutions.
The project is aimed at creating a modern urban environment while preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the city of Khiva. It also provides for the creation of new opportunities for local residents and entrepreneurs, attracting investments, and widely introducing innovative solutions.
The company's representatives said that HRL plans to apply its experience in planning "smart cities", infrastructure development, transport networks, utility systems and environmentally sustainable urban solutions in Central Asia.
HRL representative Khalid Taimur said that the project is more than a simple urban development initiative. According to him, the initiative envisages combining modern infrastructure, economic growth, technological innovation and environmental sustainability with the historical image and cultural heritage of Khiva.
The company expressed its interest in further strengthening cooperation with the Uzbek side and jointly implementing the project.
Habib Rafiq Engineering has experience in implementing large infrastructure and "smart city" projects in Pakistan. With the participation of the company, major urban development projects such as Capital Smart City Islamabad and Lahore Smart City have been implemented in the country.
The implementation of the new project in Khiva is expected to contribute to the development of modern urban planning in the Khorezm region, attract new investments, improve transport and utility infrastructure, and increase the economic potential of the region.
