A new international tourist town will be built in Khiva

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation of the international tourist town project planned to be built in the city of Khiva.

According to the presidential press service, a new international tourist town will be built in Khiva. This town will be built by combining historical heritage and modern urban planning solutions. Its architectural concept was developed based on the centuries-old urban planning traditions of Khorezm, in particular, the historical structure and street network of the ancient city of Vazir, which became the first capital of the Khiva Khanate in 1511.

The complex, with a total area of 12.3 hectares, will house hotels, a museum displaying historical and modern exhibits, restaurants serving national and international cuisine, as well as trade and service facilities.

A large part of the territory will be allocated for green spaces and promenades. Fountains with waterfalls and internal canals will be arranged. It is also planned to build canopies with solar panels in parking lots.

It is noted that the consistent development of transport, logistics and tourism infrastructure in Khorezm contributes to an increase in the flow of tourists. In this regard, the increase in the number of modern tourist complexes, the expansion of the range of services and the extension of the period of stay of tourists in the region are of great importance.

The new town will serve to reduce the tourist load on Ichan-Kala, offer new destinations and services for tourists. The project envisages the creation of thousands of new jobs and the creation of green recreation areas for residents, free from car traffic.
