New Overpass Connects Tashkent and the Capital Region

A modern railway overpass has been commissioned on the "Sabir Rakhimov – Urtaaul" section between Tashkent and the capital region, designed to ease traffic flow and make travel faster and safer.

On the morning of October 3, the overpass was opened with the participation of the regional khokim Zoir Mirzaev, the head of "O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari" Zufar Narzullaev, representatives of the prosecutor's office, the media, and local residents.

The 23.6-meter-long bridge was built on the site of an old crossing. As part of the project, a bypass line and a 1.2-kilometer road were also constructed, more than 11,000 cubic meters of concrete were poured, 800 meters of contact network were relocated, and drainage structures were installed.

The new facility is expected to eliminate congestion in this area, reduce travel time, and ease the load on the roads. The changes will be particularly felt by residents of the Zangiata district and drivers who use this route daily.

Earlier in Tashkent, a court sentenced six people for negligence and embezzlement of funds following the collapse of a section of an overpass at the intersection of Temur Malik and Great Silk Road streets.
