A meeting chaired by the President is underway in Nukus

A meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of Karakalpakstan is being held in the city of Nukus under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The head of our state expressed his pleasure at meeting face-to-face with the people of Karakalpakstan during these days when the festive spirit of the 35th anniversary of our independence continues.

In recent years, significant funds, privileges, and conditions have been created for the region. Profit, land, and property taxes were reduced by 2 times, the electricity tariff for industry was lowered by 15 percent, and the social tax was set at 1 percent.

Last year, 1 billion 700 million dollars of investment was attracted to Karakalpakstan. This is 22 times more than in 2021.

This year, Karakalpakstan's economy has become one of the fastest-growing regions. In the first half of this year, the economy grew by 10.2 percent, with the region taking second place after the city of Tashkent.
