A forum of writers from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has opened in Tashkent.

The Writers' Forum of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has begun in Tashkent.

On September 2 and 3, the writers' forum of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, titled "The Spiritual Heritage of the Turkic World: Literature – a Dialogue of Eras and Generations," is taking place in Tashkent and the Tashkent region. The event is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, and the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi.

The first day of the forum began at School No. 34 named after Rahmetolla Raimkulov, located in the village of Koramanas in the Bostanlyk district. The day included a school bell ceremony, as well as the opening of a renovated library and coworking center. The school received books from the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Interethnic Relations, and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. The events are attended by advisers to the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, Khayriddin Sultanov and Malik Otarbayev, Minister of Preschool and School Education Ezozhon Karimova, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yeral Tugzhanov, as well as heads of the writers' unions of both countries and representatives of the creative intelligentsia. Participants are discussing the development of literary ties, the shared spiritual heritage of the Turkic peoples, and the importance of literature in intergenerational dialogue.

On September 6, the first permanent Center for Contemporary Art will open in Tashkent, which will also host literary events.
