Festive events marking the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence will take place in Tashkent on August 27. Festivities, concerts, and cultural programs will be organized in six districts of the capital.

According to the Tashkent City Hall press service, the festive program will begin at 2:00 PM in Gafur Gulyam Park (Chilonzar District) and Furkat Park (Mirabad District). At 6:00 PM, the venues will open at Pushkin Square in the Yakkasaray District, Central Park in the Sergeli District, and River Park in the Almazar District. Events will begin at 6:30 PM in front of the City Hall building in the Uchtepa District.

Visitors will enjoy concerts, folk art exhibitions, a book fair, and national sports competitions such as kurash, chess, checkers, and tug-of-war. Admission to all events is free.

On Wednesday, August 26, a ceremony was held to present high state awards to compatriots in connection with the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. The head of state congratulated those present on the occasion, emphasizing that over the past 35 years, the country has achieved results comparable to those of an entire century, and that the main architects of these transformations are the hardworking people.
