A criminal case has been opened against a nanny in Samarkand, suspected of torturing a 3-year-old child by placing him on an electric stove.

A three-year-old child in the care of a nanny in the Kattakurgan district is said to have been subjected to violence. The child is currently being treated in a critical condition in the intensive care unit.

It turned out that the child's mother left her child with a nanny for about two months and worked herself. The family is from Narpay district. The child's father works abroad, and the mother, due to family disagreements, left her home in Narpay and worked as a dishwasher in a cafe, leaving her child with a nanny in Kattakurgan.

The videos provided to the publication show the child with severe burns and bruises on his body. It is also clear that the child was treated cruelly. Neighbors, who learned about the incident, contacted the internal affairs bodies. After that, the child was taken to the hospital.

One of the child's relatives said that after the incident, law enforcement agencies were contacted several times. However, according to him, a medical examination was not even ordered.

"There is no healthy spot on the 3-year-old child's body. His hands were tied with wire, and the wounds left by the wire marks have even festered. The child was placed on a hot electric stove, his back was very deeply and severely burned. Would a human being do something like that...", he said.

The press service of the Children's Ombudsman responded to Gazeta's request and reported that it had taken control of the situation and that the regional representative for the Samarkand region was currently investigating the situation.

The investigation department of the Kattakurgan district Internal Affairs Department has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 110 (Torture) of the Criminal Code. 43-year-old O.Yo. (woman) was involved in the criminal case as a suspect. Currently, preliminary investigative actions are being conducted.

The Children's Ombudsman stated that he will continue his monitoring of the legal interests of the child victim in the criminal case.
