A child left with a nanny in Samarkand was allegedly placed on an electric stove

A 3-year-old boy who was left in the care of a nanny in the Kattakurgan district was hospitalized in critical condition. Witnesses say the nanny tortured the boy by placing him on an electric stove and tying his hands with wire.

A 3-year-old boy in Samarkand, who was being cared for by a nanny, was allegedly placed on an electric stove. The boy is currently being treated in a critical condition in the intensive care unit.

According to reports, the mother of the family from Narpay district left her child with a nanny in the Kattakurgan district for about two months while she worked as a dishwasher in a cafe. The boy's father works abroad, and the mother left her home in Narpay due to family disputes.

Videos provided to Kun.uz show the boy with severe burns and bruises on his body. They also show that the boy was treated cruelly. After neighbors who learned about the incident contacted the internal affairs bodies, the boy was taken to the hospital.

According to one of the boy's relatives, law enforcement agencies were contacted several times after the incident, but no medical examination was ordered.

"There is no healing on the body of a 3-year-old child. His hands were tied with wire, and the wounds left by the wire marks have even festered. He made the child sit on a hot electric stove, and his back was very deeply and badly burned. Is this what a human being would do? The child has now undergone surgery and doctors have patched up the burned areas with his own skin. But no action has been taken against the person who committed this atrocity for so many days. Neither the internal affairs department nor the prosecutor's office has looked into it. When I write to Narpay, they say he was in Kattakurgan - write to them. When I write to Kattakurgan, there is silence. Finally, we wrote to the Samarkand regional prosecutor's office, but they have not done anything. It has been more than a week, and everyone is silent," he says.

The child's relatives are now waiting for his treatment and a legal assessment of who and under what circumstances abused him.

One of the witnesses to the incident said that the nanny had previously looked after other children and had videos of child abuse on her phone. According to her, the woman pulled out the child's hair with tweezers and filmed the incident on her phone.

"It was so painful that she pulled out the child's hair one by one with tweezers and filmed it on her personal phone. This woman had done this to other children in her home where she looked after children before. But no one said anything, and her phone recorded the children's bloodied bodies from beatings. She would not open the gate to parents who came to check on their children, saying that their children would cry if they saw them. That's why some parents were unaware of their children's condition," the witness said.
