A Tashkent woman will be stripped of her parental rights for abusing her two-year-old son.

In Tashkent, a two-year-old boy who was abused by his mother has been temporarily placed in foster care. A criminal case has been opened, and the court will consider whether to terminate the woman's parental rights.

The Children's Ombudsman's Office received a complaint from a group of residents of Tashkent's Yashnabad district. They reported possible abuse of the young child by his 37-year-old mother.

According to the residents, the mother systematically beat the child. She also allegedly administered sleeping pills to the boy, after which she left him without necessary care and supervision.

Following an official request from the Children's Ombudsman, law enforcement officers and the National Agency for Social Protection investigated the situation. Following the investigation, a criminal case has been opened against the mother for torture. A protective order has been issued for the child.

The boy is currently receiving the necessary medical care. His condition is stable and good.

To protect the child's interests, temporary guardianship has been granted. Documents are being prepared to file a lawsuit to terminate the mother's parental rights due to improper performance of parental responsibilities.

The Children's Ombudsman emphasized that she will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the child has safe living conditions and adequate care.

Earlier, a mother from the Navoi region who attempted to sell her one-month-old daughter was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.
