The competition, which was held with a prize of 616 million soums, will now also be organized among kindergarten educators.

Starting next year, it has been proposed to also hold the "Teacher of the Year" competition among kindergarten educators and technical school instructors. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward this initiative during an ongoing meeting with representatives of the education system, emphasizing the need to decently reward their work as well.

In this year's competition, which was held in a new format, each of the 208 district and city winners was awarded 616 million soums.

"If, starting next year, we also hold this competition among kindergarten educators and technical school instructors in 14 regions and reward them as well, would you approve of this?" the head of state said.

Thus, starting from 2027, it is planned to also reward kindergarten educators, who provide children with their initial education and upbringing, and technical school instructors, who teach professions to young people, through this competition.

The President also touched upon the income of teachers. According to him, currently 40,000 teachers receive a salary of over one thousand dollars, and another 1,500 teachers receive over two thousand dollars.

"If not 40,000, but 140,000 teachers receive 1,000 dollars — even this is not enough, I am in favor of it increasing," the President said.

For reference, more than 46,000 educators participated in this year's "Teacher of the Year" competition nationwide, with 208 of them emerging as winners.
