A children's rehabilitation center based on Turkish experience will be established in Uzbekistan

During a meeting between representatives of the National Agency for Social Protection of Uzbekistan and the Turkish children's rehabilitation center Avrupa Çocuk, the issue of establishing an institution in Uzbekistan based on the Turkish model of comprehensive child rehabilitation was considered.

Agency representatives familiarized themselves with the activities of the Avrupa Çocuk center, which has been serving children with disabilities and various developmental characteristics since 2010. With an area of approximately 3,000 square meters, this center has the capacity to serve up to 1.4 thousand children per month, and 13 of its branches operate in Istanbul.

The center works with children who have autism spectrum disorders, motor function, fine motor skills, speech, and cognitive development difficulties. According to the Turkish model, after the initial examination, the child's needs are identified, and an individual rehabilitation and educational program is developed. Physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and educators are involved in the process, and the child's developmental dynamics are regularly assessed.

The parties also discussed the involvement of parents in the rehabilitation process and the adaptation of children to the new environment. At the end of the visit, the Turkish experience was identified as one of the promising directions for developing the children's rehabilitation system in Uzbekistan. The specific parameters of the future project are expected to be determined within the framework of further cooperation.
