According to the "Dunyo" Information Agency citing the Austria online publication, an agreement on large-scale educational cooperation was signed between IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems and the Vocational Education Agency of Uzbekistan.
The new centers will train qualified specialists and teachers for the tourism sector. Raising the quality of education based on international standards is also defined as one of the main goals of the project.
Training hotels will be established at the centers. In them, students will acquire practical skills in guest reception, hotel management, and restaurant service.
It is also planned to train and certify local teachers based on the Train-the-Trainer model. Through this, it is intended to introduce Austrian experience more widely into the vocational education system of Uzbekistan.
IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems has previously participated in educational projects in Uzbekistan as well. In particular, more than 200 students are studying based on the standards of the Austrian university under joint programs with Tashkent State University of Economics.
The new centers are expected to serve in training competitive personnel for the tourism sector and expanding employment opportunities for graduates. The news report does not specify the opening date of the centers or the admission requirements.
