5.8 million students will return to school on September 2

On September 2, 5.8 million students will return to school.

In connection with the beginning of the new academic year in Uzbekistan, enhanced measures will be taken to ensure public order and security in educational institutions. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was reported that on September 2, festive events dedicated to the Day of Knowledge will be held in 11,178 secondary schools in the republic. A total of 5.8 million students, including children entering the first grade, will participate in them together with their parents.

Also, 598 vocational educational institutions and 73 academic lyceums will begin their activities in the new academic year.

On the eve of the new academic year, an urgent meeting was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs to discuss issues of ensuring the safety of students and their parents in educational institutions, maintaining public order, and preventing various unpleasant situations.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Toshpulatov, the Commander of the National Guard Bakhodir Toshmatov, the Minister of Emergency Situations Azizbek Ikromov and officials from relevant sectors.

Necessary measures will be taken to ensure traffic safety around educational institutions, regulate pedestrian traffic, and control the movement and parking of vehicles in front of schools.

Special attention will be paid to the safe organization of pedestrian and vehicle traffic around educational institutions, especially taking into account the arrival of first-graders to school with their parents.

In addition, compliance with fire safety rules in schools and other educational institutions, prevention of emergency situations, and readiness for rapid action in case of need will be monitored.

The officials were instructed to ensure security measures in advance in each educational institution, strengthen preventive measures, and promptly eliminate identified problems.
