Uzbekistan has announced the start dates for the new school year.

Here's the rewritten text in Russian:

The start dates for the new academic year in educational institutions in Uzbekistan have been set.

Traditionally, the new 2026/2027 academic year will begin in all public schools in Uzbekistan on September 2, 2026. Classes will also resume on the same day for students in academic lyceums and technical schools.

According to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, this year, more than 795,000 first-graders will sit at their desks for the first time. On their first day of school, each of them will receive a "President's Gift"—a set of 12 essential school supplies.

Higher education in the country will begin somewhat later. According to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, first-year students will begin classes on September 7, and senior students (second-year students and above) will begin their studies on September 14.

It was also reported that applicants who scored high but were not accepted into any of the five chosen tracks may be given the opportunity to apply for a sixth, additional track. The new procedure is scheduled to launch next week.
