54.8 thousand electric vehicles were imported into Uzbekistan in eight months

In January-August 2026, a total of 54,826 electric vehicles worth $614.44 million were imported into Uzbekistan. According to the Customs Committee, this figure increased by 89.63 percent compared to 28,920 units in the same period of 2025.

During the eight months, the average import price of each electric vehicle brought from abroad was $11,207. A year earlier, the cost per unit of electric-powered cars was $12,389. This means that although the number of imported electric vehicles increased, their price decreased by $1,182 or 9.5 percent over the year.

By month, the highest number of electric vehicles was imported in July — 8,875 units, and in August — 8,076 units. The lowest figures were recorded in January — 4,548 units, and in February — 5,152 units. The figures for the remaining months are as follows:

March — 6,662 units;

April — 6,716 units;

May — 6,952 units;

June — 7,845 units.

Earlier, it was reported that sales of electric vehicles in the country rose sharply in June. During that month, 8.4 thousand electric vehicles were bought and sold in the primary and secondary markets. This figure was nearly 63.5 percent higher compared to May.
