Uzbekistan has increased meat imports. What are the prices in the markets?

Reports are spreading on social networks that the import of meat from abroad has stopped and meat prices in the markets have risen. The Customs Committee, however, stated that there are no disruptions in imports.

Along with beef and mutton, imported meat products are also being sold on market stalls. Beef is priced around 110–170 thousand soums, while mutton is around 130–170 thousand soums.

At the "Chorsu" market, meat products imported from Kazakhstan and Pakistan can also be found. They are being sold at around 65–90 thousand soums. According to sellers, there are many buyers for imported meat.

According to one of the sellers, there are sometimes disruptions in the delivery of imported meat. However, the arrival of the product has not stopped completely.

The Customs Committee informed "Daryo" that there are no disruptions or problems in the process of customs control and clearance of meat products. In 2025, meat products worth 870 million dollars were imported into Uzbekistan.

In January–August 2026, the import volume amounted to 678 million dollars. This year, meat is being imported into the country from 29 countries. Of the imported products, 519 million dollars accounted for beef, 54.6 million dollars for chicken, and 47.8 million dollars for mutton.

Also, in January–August 2026, meat imports increased by 173 million dollars compared to the same period last year. This shows that the volume of meat imports into the country has increased significantly.
