14 modern trains added to Tashkent metro
In the Tashkent metro, 14 modern trains consisting of 56 new carriages have been put into service. As a result, the metro's carriage fleet has been renewed by nearly 70 percent, reducing passenger waiting times during peak hours.
Tashkent metro replenished with 14 modern trains
According to information provided by the Ministry of Transport, all the new trains planned to be purchased in 2026 were delivered before the start of the academic year. The new generation trains have started operating on four lines of the metro.
Currently, during rush hours, trains run at the following intervals:
- On the Chilonzor line — 1.5–2 minutes;
- On the O‘zbekiston line — 3 minutes;
- On the Yunusobod line — 4 minutes;
- On the Circle Overground line — 7–8 minutes.
The Ministry noted that the launch of the new trains has significantly reduced waiting times, especially during rush hours.
